Prof. Dr. Ziya Kapran

Dear Members of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association,

The most scientifically comprehensive meetings of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association are the National Ophthalmology Congresses. The 57th National Ophthalmology Congress will be held at Antalya-Belek SuSesi Hotel and Congress Center between 8-12 November 2023.

After our 53rd National Congress in 2019, we were all very tired due to epidemics, wars and natural disasters in the world and in our region. We need solidarity and sharing the pain to get rid of the worries that we have experienced in the last four years and that all humanity has been negatively affected. It was our individual and social solidarity that gave us strength in this difficult period of our country. We also miss our friends and colleagues. Physical meetings are environments where longings are fulfilled, friendships are strengthened, and in short, it reminds us that we are family and makes us feel good.

The 57th National Congress Organization Committee (NCOC) will hold approximately 15 NCOC meetings during the congress preparations. The scientific program of the 57th National Congress will include panels, courses, roundtables, interactive meetings, video sessions, oral presentations and poster events, international youth ophthalmologist’s sessions, NCOC panels and industry satellite meetings. During the National Congress, some important scientists, and Ophthalmological Association leaders from abroad will be invited and the scientific program of the congress will be enriched. In addition, training programs are planned by the TOA Surgery Training Commission with Eye-si Cataract and Vitreoretinal training simulators and Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy simulators.

Due to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye, a special social program worthy of the centurial anniversary of our Republic will be held at the 57th National Congress this year. Our aim is to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our Republic together with great enthusiasm. In addition, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk will be commemorated with a special ceremony on the 85th anniversary of his departure on November 10, 2023.

On behalf of TOA Administrative Board, I would like to send my sincere gratitude to all members of the NCOC, who made an excellent teamwork for the preparations for the 57th National Congress, to our Education and Research units that made a great contribution to the formation of the scientific program, to all our faculty who honored us by accepting our invitation, to our sponsors and industry companies that gave their support and to the Global Congress that worked devotedly to make the organization run smoothly.

The biggest scientific and social meetings for the members of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association are the national congresses. On behalf of the TOA Administrative Board of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association and the National Congress Organization Committee, I invite you to the 57th National Congress of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association, which will be held at Antalya - Belek SuSesi Hotel and Congress Center between 8-12 November 2023.

Warm Regards,

Prof. Ziya Kapran, MD
President of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association
President of the TOA 57th National Congress

Doç. Dr. Emine Çinici

Dear Colleagues,

We are very honored and pleased to invite you to our 57th National Congress, which will be held with the contributions of Erzurum-Trabzon Branch on the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association.

As we all know, our country was shaken by a great disaster at a time when we were trying to take normalization steps after a long pandemic process. We lost thousands of our people, lives, and colleagues. Although all these events affect us deeply, we know that we can get out of this disaster by holding on to each other and to the life. Regardless of the circumstances, we must hold fast to science and our work and continue our way with the most up-to-date developments. In this case, which enables us to follow the latest developments in ophthalmology, to see the technological developments in place, and to share our efforts throughout the year, our National Congress will be held on 8-12 November 2023 at Antalya SuSesi Hotel & Congress Center.

As every year, we tried to create a full and efficient program by considering the changing dynamics in the field of ophthalmology and the feedback from you while preparing the congress program this year. Our scientific program, which started with Science Advanced Education Programs (SAEP) on the first day of the congress, will continue with honor conferences, panels, interactive meetings and presentations by faculties. Our scientists, each of whom are experts in their own fields, will share their knowledge and experience with us.

The year 2023 also coincides with the 100th anniversary of our Republic, which we established with great efforts. We will be very happy to share this great enthusiasm with our colleagues in our congress. We will commemorate him with respect and gratitude, as our congress coincided with the 85th anniversary of the death of the Great Leader Atatürk, the founder of our republic.

The scientific presidency of our National Congress, which is the most important organization of our ophthalmology community, supports all our units that support us, our very valuable scientists who share our knowledge and experience by taking part in these programs, all our friends who will share our work, the organizational environment that contributes to our congress, and the National Congress Organization Committee (NCOC) and on behalf of TOA Erzurum- Trabzon branch

Dear Colleagues, I invite you to Antalya with the hope that the 57th TOA National Congress will be a successful and full congress that meets the scientific and social expectations, and I offer my respect and love.
