The title of the Skills Transfer Course (STC), which we will be organized by the Turkish Ophthalmological Association Medical Retina Society (TMRS) in TODEM Virtual environment on April 17, 2021 between 10.00-14.00, has been determined as "New Laser Applications in Our Daily Practice".

The laser systems has been perfected with the electrotechnical developments in laser devices, it has become faster, more comfortable and safer after the integration of auxiliary equipments, and the fields of application in ophthalmology have expanded. Laser exposure was reduced to microseconds by subthreshold micropulse laser and retinal damage was decreased. Pattern Scan Laser provides painless panretinal photocoagulation in a single session. Navilas can simultaneously obtain color fundus photographs of posterior pole and peripheral retina; can capture images of fluorescent angiography, and optical coherence tomography; plan of patient-specific treatment after integration of images; and records current findings or treatments in digital environment.

In this STC the latest points in laser technology, the working principles of new laser types (subthreshold, pattern, Navilas), the principles of subthreshold laser application in diabetic macular edema and central serous chorioretinopathy will be discussed with case examples, and the application of pattern laser and navilas in our daily practice. will be shared with the trainees.
