Invitation

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the fourth of the “Turkish Ophthalmology Society (TOA) Live Surgery Symposium”, to be held on September 24 - 27, 2020 at the Wyndham Grand Levent Hotel and Convention Center in Istanbul - Turkey.

Our symposium designed with a unique and distinctive concept since the beginning, continues to provide and present added educational value connected with the innovative evolution this year also. Having held live surgeries by three TOA societies in the previous meetings, this year we are planning to organize live surgeries in a total of six disciplines with a contribution of three more TOA societies. Thereby, our participants will have an opportunity to watch live surgeries in the fields of cornea, oculoplastic surgery and strabismus in addition to cataract, vitreoretinal surgery and glaucoma.

I would like to announce that the "ESCRS Academy" meeting, which is held by ESCRS annually in one or two countries with international faculty members, will be featured among this year's scientific program.

Moreover, special oral and poster sessions will be scheduled allowing our colleagues to present their studies either in Turkish or English. We will be looking forward to getting your submissions.

While participation in the meeting has been increasing every year, we are expecting increased international participation as of this year. I would like to introduce that substantial adjustments and incentives have been made on the TOA Live Surgery Symposium Directive aiming international participation. One of the international arrangements in this year’s program has been simultaneous translation in three languages (English, French and Russian) in main two halls for instance.

I would like to take this opportunity to present my sincere gratitude to Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Department of Ophthalmology for making their fully qualified operation rooms available for us since many years.

On behalf of the TOA Live Surgery Organization Committee and TOA Administrative Board, it is my great honor to invite you to create the most splendid and successful 4th TOA Live Surgery Symposium together, which is becoming more pleasant and assertive each year.

With my deepest respect and warmest regards,

Prof. İzzet Can, M.D.
President of the TOA
