Dear Colleagues,
Turkish Ophthalmological Association 54th National Congress will be held on November 4-8, 2020 at the Sueno Hotel & Convention Center Belek in the city of Antalya, one of the pearls of our country. On behalf of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association Administrative Board and Congress Organization Committee, I am honored to invite you to this congress, the greatest scientific activity of our association.
Our association aiming to provide post-graduate training and education as one of its main functions is excitedly getting prepared to its national congress this year as well. Our congress program has been enrichened and by that way transformed to a scientific feast properly with the meetings designed by both the TOA Societies and the National Congress Organization Committee (NCOC), together with the contribution of the international distinguished faculty members.
One of the first priority goals of our association is to make our congress a center of attraction for international participants right away as our congress has been receiving praises among our society members for many years because of not only its scientific quality but also its organizational structure and also regarded by our members as not lacking anything in every sense compared to the internationally popular meetings. From now onward, we are looking forward to meeting our colleagues from all over the world together with the participants from our country. Therefore, starting from this year, simultaneous translation for French and Russion will be provided in our congresses in addition to English.
We all know that that our congresses are a platform where people meet each other who were missed, friendships are strengthened and information is exchanged, briefly all these reminding us that we are a huge family. We have also observed for years that these facts also depend a bit by organizing congresses in out-of-city areas that allows our colleagues to run away from their regular workplace for a few days. We expect to have an unforgettable experience by coming together under the perfect atmosphere of Sueno Hotel & Convention Center where our congress will be held this year.
Our congress will begin with the full-day Society Advanced Training Programs (BILEPs). As you already know, BILEPs holding a very special place in our scientific activities within the last four years are the programs that covers the advanced level information which we cannot always find the time to discuss inside the regular meeting formats. Panel sessions, workshops, round table meetings, interactive sessions, video sessions, poster activities and satellite symposiums will be included this year as well inside our main congress scientific program. Besides, the Skills Transfer Courses will also hold an important role in our congress as a part of practical training activities.
I am glad to invite you to our congress in order to leave behind the sadness and anxiety of a very challenging year affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and to celebrate turning back to our regular life both in our country and in the world.

As the TOA Konya-Antalya Regional Branch, it is our great pride and pleasure to host the 54th National Congress of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious education establishments of our country.
Our congress in which ‘’KNOWLEDGE’’ guiding us in all fields of life will be discussed in all aspects, shared amongst and where our colleagues meet and socialize with each other will be held at the Sueno Hotel & Convention Center in Belek, Antalya between the dates of November 4th – 8th, 2020.
National Congresses which bring the members of our growing association together in each year are the most important education activity where achievement and skills are shared between our colleagues. As our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, ‘’Our true mentor in life is science.’’
